A cab driver who wrote scathing reviews of his customers online is under investigation.

Richard Evans, 44, of Llanelli, south Wales, came under fire after posting photos and criticism of people he picked up in so-called ‘tip advisor’ reviews.

He attacked them for not tipping and shared his opinions with his 1,800 followers.

In one review Mr Evans likened one customer to bulky cartoon character Shrek.

In another he said: ‘No tip – tight a***.’ and another adds: ’50p tip, keep the change, nice guy.’

Carmarthenshire Council’s public health services manager Sue Watts has confirmed an investigation into Mr Evans would be going ahead.

‘This is not the kind of behaviour we would expect of one of our licensed taxi drivers,’ she said. ‘We will be carrying out further investigations and acting accordingly.’

But Liverpool fan Mr Evans defended his actions insisting it was ‘just a bit of fun’.

The father-of-two told BBC Wales: ‘Yes I took pictures of four or five customers with my comments for friends to see. It was all just a joke.

‘I apologise if anyone has been upset. I value all my customers and I want them to be happy.’
